When I first learned about Tumblr, the first service that jumped to my mind as competitive was Twitter. Tumblr is very different than Twitter. Infact Twitter is a service you use to tell people what you are doing, but you use Tumblr to share those experiences… Tumblr is Next.

Tumblr is a platform that makes it easy to create Tumblelogs, a variation of a blog, that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial posts frequently associated with blogging. It’s more complex and interesting than Twitter.

It enables you to create text posts, audio posts, photo posts,video posts, share links, even transcribe or post chats or dialogue you’ve overheard. Tumblr is truly a valuable, branded, content generation platform.  A smart young adult digesting content, commenting on it and contextualizing it for their audience. That’s far more valuable.
